Ocean State Rhode Race

For many years, the rich history of the Ocean State Marathon has endured. During its long history in Narragansett – and located at the original Rhode Island Marathon site – this local area tradition has garnered worldwide accolades and attracts runners and fans every year. 

The race begins in the shadow of the historic Coast Guard House at beautiful Narragansett Town Beach. The racecourse features magnificent views of classic Narragansett Bay, quaint country back roads, historic homes, and picturesque bridges. 

The Ocean State Rhode Race takes place on Sunday, October 24, 2021, and consists of a marathon, half marathon, and 5k race. The marathon will start at 7:30 a.m., the half marathon at 8:00 a.m., and the 5k at 8:15 a.m.

This year’s spectacular is all about the greatest music of the past 150 years. Enjoy an array of music from classical tunes to rock and roll as you spectate the wonderful carved pumpkin creations at this year’s event.

Located at the Roger Williams Park Zoo from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through October 31.

This December, the Preservation Society of Newport plans an outdoor event with all the sparkling trimmings of the holiday season. This outdoor yuletide event will feature the lights of Christmas like you’ve never seen them.
